Licensed Clinical Psychologist #34538

Hi, I’m Lisa, and my passion is helping you see the why behind emotional dysregulation, so we can develop the skills needed to break free from that exhausting cycle.

I work with adults who have experienced complex trauma and struggle with overwhelm, emotional activation, and difficulty regulating emotions. I weave EMDR with somatic and polyvagal approaches to create a safe, affirming space for neurodivergent clients and complex trauma survivors

I am EMDR certified and an EMDRIA approved EMDR consultant. I am also certified in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. I am an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT-200) as well.

So, enough about me. If you would like to see if we are a good fit or want to get started with virtual therapy, schedule a free 15 minute phone or video consultation. I look forward to meeting you.

3 Reasons To Work with Lisa

Complex Trauma

I am a complex trauma expert, and I do not say that lightly. I have spent years in training, conducted hundreds of sessions, and logged extensive hours in consultation and advanced education. As an EMDR certified therapist and EMDR consultant, I know this method well, and I integrate somatic techniques, nervous system work, and more to support the healing process. When it comes to complex trauma, that makes a difference. If you have experienced complex trauma and struggle with overwhelm, emotional activation, and difficulty regulating emotions, you are looking for complex trauma therapy in Los Angeles or therapy for CPTSD in California, I’m here to help.

Neurodiversity-Affirming

I support neurodivergent individuals seeking therapy for complex trauma or a deeper understanding of their neurodivergent identity. This often includes exploring past misdiagnoses, reframing lived experiences, and building a sense of safety and self-trust. Therapy is grounded in a respectful, neurodivergent-affirming approach that honors each client’s unique needs.
Whether you’re searching for a neurodivergent- affirming trauma therapy or you’re newly diagnosed and looking to understand your neurodivergent identity, I’m here to help.

Testing

Maybe you’ve felt misunderstood by others and wondered about Autism, or perhaps you find your mind wandering and you’re never quite able to finish a task. Time and time again, you’ve asked yourself this same question, yet you’re almost certain you know the answer.
If you’re searching for someone that understands your unique experience, I’ve been there.
If you have ever considered that you may be neurodivergent, if you’ve struggled with focus or impulsivity; if you’ve felt like you never quite fit in or experienced sensory overload or exhaustion from over stimulation, you’ve come to the right place. Schedule a consultation, and let’s talk about neurodivergent- affirming assessment.

Is Virtual therapy effective

I am often asked, does virtual therapy work? Even though it’s been around for over three decades, research on its effectiveness didn’t really gain traction until recently. While my own experience as a therapist has shown me just how powerful virtual therapy can be, I also believe in the importance of research. The good news is that research backs this up, with a recent study finding that virtual therapy resulted in comparable symptom reduction to in person therapy, and these benefits also remained consistent at follow up visits (Lin et al., 2022).
